Two and a half years after meeting on Tinder, Rick proposed to Hayley while the pair were vacationing in Rome. On October 30, 2021 the DC couple held their wedding at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards in Charlottesville in front of 125 guests.
The occasion was decorated in shades of blush, Champagne, rose, gold, cream, and sage for an “elegant, romantic vineyard vibe.” On par for the season, signature drinks included a hot apple toddy, and a “perfect pair” concoction of vodka, St. Germain, pear nectar and vanilla bean. After dinner, the newlyweds cut a cake layered with carrot and almond pound cakes, with maple bourbon cream-cheese icing. The bride’s favorite detail was the floral arch—and the first look, during which she and Rick privately exchanged personal vows. The groom’s favorite detail was the outfit change—for the reception, he switched into a white velvet dinner jacket and Hayley traded her Jenny You gown for a white sequin mini party dress. Instead of favors, the pair brought in a photo booth, and photos doubled as a keepsake for remembering the night. “We always see the photos strips at our friends’ homes when we visit,” says Hayley. After the celebration—which they describe as the “best party ever”—the pair honeymooned in Hawaii.
