This Wedding Featured a “Valentine’s in July” Theme

There was an all-white ceremony, followed by a lush red-and-gold reception.

Drawn to his tall, dark handsomeness one night at the Park at 14th in DC, Adjoba introduced herself to Nana. He was taken by her beautiful smile. A couple years later, Nana turned an anniversary dinner and photo session at the Four Seasons hotel into a surprise proposal with family and friends.

Their “Valentine’s in July” wedding featured all-white flowers and decor at the ceremony, followed by a reception decorated in red and gold, including two oversize red trees, lush red floral centerpieces, heart-shaped menus, a wall of red roses, and a red watercolor design for the dance floor and stage. The menu included a mix of American and Ivorian dishes, plus late-night bites that were boxed and delivered to the dance floor. To cap off the evening, the newlyweds surprised their guests with a fireworks display, what they call the “number-one must-have” on their planning list.
