A Warby Parker Showroom Is Coming to DC

The quirky-cool eyeglass brand is parking its school-bus showroom around the District all month long.

If you keep up with fashion blogs, you’ve likely come across a post or two describing
the wonders of Warby Parker. The online-only glasses emporium has been outfitting
hipsters and academic types in thick black- and tortoiseshell-framed spectacles since
2010, and the business model is very young-professional-friendly: Most frames cost
$95, and the company will ship you five sample pairs to try on for free before committing
to a final prescription-lens choice. Given that the actual good-looking frames at
your local optometrist typically start around $200, it’s a pretty sweet deal—but we
understand that picking up something as personal as eyewear from the World Wide Web
can still seem a little sketch.

That’s precisely why we’re pumped to announce that starting tomorrow, Warby Parker is setting up a showroom right here in the District. And this isn’t just any old pop-up—the quirky-cool company has transformed the inside of a classic yellow school bus into a professor’s library of sorts, complete with leather sofas, vintage books, and (duh) the complete men’s and women’s lines of Warby Parker frames for you to try on in person. Like the Styleliner before it, the bus is here for a limited time only—through November 25—and will be changing locations during its stay. The showroom is open from 11 to 7. Here’s where you’ll find it around town:

November 6 through 8: Union Station

November 9 through 11: the PNC Bank lot on M Street between Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest, and 31st Street, Northwest, in Georgetown

November 13 through 15: Woodrow Wilson Plaza

November 16 through 18 and 23 through 25: PNC Bank lot
