Monday, October 25

Alt-pop singer/songwriter Alexis Babini performs at Jammin’ Java. In the past year, he’s toured with Boz Scaggs and Blues Traveler and performed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Also in tonight’s lineup is Kyle Patrick (of Click Five) and Lady Danville. 7 PM. Tickets ($10) are available here or at the door.

Tuesday, October 26

Catch one of DC’s most unusual traditions at the annual High Heel Race. Since 1986, more than 100 drag queens speed their way down 17th Street, Northwest, from S to P streets. The race starts at 9, but viewers start lining up for a good spot as early as 6. Free. Click here to see photos of last years race.

Wednesday, October 27

The controversial South African music duo Die Antwoord continue their world tour at the 9:30 Club. Find out if they’re true electro-punk talent or a joke we aren’t getting. 7 PM. Buy tickets ($20) here.

Thursday, October 28

Preview the latest in fashion from local designers at Ready Set DC’s Fashion:District Fall/Winter 2010 at Stroga studio (1808 Adams Mill Rd., NW). The evening features a fashion show, various pop-up displays, and music from Bluebrain. Cocktail hour starts at 7, the fashion show at 9. Tickets ($25 to $35) available here.
