You’ll be able to check out bridesmaid gowns from Bari Jay, Liz Fields, and Alexia, as well as bridal designs by Maggie Sottero, Impression, and Allure. Many of the sample gowns are $500 or less. Sunday, June 12
The Greater Virginia Bridal Show, hosted by Virginia Bride magazine, hits Fredericksburg’s Hospitality House Hotel on Sunday. There will be an Alfred Angelo fashion show, displays, catering and cake samples, door prizes, and more. 1 to 4; $7.
There’s also a bridal show at the Donovan House Hotel, hosted by Weddings by Tanzi. Held on the hotel’s rooftop pool deck, you can sample catering options, listen to a wedding DJ, sip cocktails, and more. RSVP on the Weddings by Tanzi site. 5 to 8; free.
Wednesday, June 15
To celebrate the opening of Wedding Belles: Bridal Fashions from the Marjorie Merriweather Post Family, 1874-1958, the Hillwood Museum is hosting a bridal bash on Wednesday evening. There will be a preview of the Fall 2011 Vera Wang collection, a Neiman Marcus shoes showcase, wedding jewelery from Tiffany, hair-and-make-up experts from Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, champagne, and treats from local bakeries such as Georgetown Cupcake and Charm City Cakes. Advance tickets ($35) are available from MuseumTix, or you can pick one up for $45 at the door. 6:30 to 8:30.
