Where & When: What to Do Tonight
Flower-infused cocktails, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, and free yoga in the park
Tuesday, August 2
DRINKS: Ring in the first week of August with squash blossom-infused cuisine during Oyamel’s Squash Blossom Festival. The restaurant’s limited-time menu will feature an array of Mexican appetizers, along with honeydew punch ($10) and zucchini mary ($11) cocktails. Reservations can be made at Oyamel’s Web site. The festival runs through August 14.
ART: It’s your last chance to catch Glenview Mansion’s “Outloud” exhibit, a collection of abstract expressionism paintings by local artists. Featured artists include JoAnn Clayton, Jacqui Crocetta, Michiyo Mizuuchi, Alexey Zoob, and more. Free; the gallery is open Tuesdays from 9 AM to 9 PM.
MUSIC: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Steely Dan are coming to the Merriweather Post Pavilion tonight. The legendary classic rock duo has been hailed by Rolling Stone as “the perfect musical antiheroes” of the 1970s. Tickets ($35 to $75) can be purchased at the event Web site. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
YOGA: It may only be Tuesday, but sitting in front of a computer all day can leave you bent out of shape. So grab some friends and head to Meridian Hill Park for a free yoga class. The event is part of Citizen Effect’s August Yoga challenge, a movement to raise $20,000 for Becky’s Fund, a nonprofit that works to counteract domestic violence. 6 to 7:30 PM.
