BENEFIT: Get in the holiday spirit during Gibson’s Baby, It’s Cold Outside fundraiser. Guests can sip on speakeasy-style cocktails and sway to music from DJ Huang. Tickets can be purchased online for $60 or at the door for $75. All proceeds will benefit 826DC, a local nonprofit that provides writing workshops for young students. 8 PM to midnight.
OPERA: The AFI Silver Theatre is hosting a live broadcast of La Scala’s Don Giovanni at noon. “ Don Giovanni has been widely regarded as the greatest opera ever composed,” says NPR. “Mozart’s opera is a brilliant combination of stark human tragedy and touching comedy, set to music of limitless genius.” Opera lovers can catch a recorded encore at 7 PM. Tickets ($15 to $20) can be purchased through the theater’s Web site.
THEATER: If you haven’t already, head to Round House Theatre for a showing of Pride and Prejudice. Set in 18th-century England, Jane Austen’s beloved tale follows the unlikely love affair between proud, wealthy Mr. Darcy and headstrong Elizabeth Bennet. Read our review here.
