Are you a busy body? Hear tales about the snoops among us at Curiosity Killed the Cat, a live storytelling event hosted by SpeakeasyDC at Town Danceboutique. Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, begins today. Busboys and Poets’ Shirlington location marks the occasion with a screening of Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet, which tells the story of Muhammad through the lives of modern-day American Muslims. Stay afterward for a discussion with the film’s producer and a dinner to break a day of fasting. Tickets ($35) are available here. 6 PM.

The men’s clothier Instructions Apparel previews its fall fashions at Ping Pong Dim Sum with a benefit cocktail soirée. Learn how to knot a tie before sitting down for a complimentary shoe shine, then sip on free JC Cognac refreshments and $5 custom “Windsor Knots” cocktails as live models strut their stuff. The event benefits the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, which helps place high-achieving African American youths in rewarding local internship programs.
