If there were ever a quintessential backyard wedding, we think Maryland couple Bethany and Jeremy’s would be it (see photo above, by the talented photographer Love by Serena). Pennants, mismatched napkins, mason jars, wildflower arrangements, a ribbon ceremony backdrop, and, yes, Dunkin’ Donuts Munchkins instead of a wedding cake—DIY details that are just so well-done.
Vintage is a word we often hear from brides describing their weddings. No one can really define exactly what it means, but we think this wedding at the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek (another venue that’s new to us!) comes pretty darn close. The bride’s dress (which is actually a vintage find) blows me away.
We love all things rustic and purple, therefore this may be one of our favorite weddings ever. Placing escort cards in old shutters? A simple bouquet of lavender? Floral arrangements placed in vintage bottles from the groom’s personal collection? This Maryland wedding kind of blows our mind.
A perfectly preppy and nautical-inspired wedding at the Gibson Island Club. Some favorite features: the bride’s Swiss-dot dress, the bridemaids’ Lilly Pulitzer frocks (how much preppier can you get?), the burlap table runners, and of course, the games of croquet on the venue’s lawn.
The Indian weddings on the blog Maharani Weddings are always bright, colorful, and full of joy. And we were so delighted to see a local event featured there this week—an engagement party at the Bethesda North Marriott. Love the bride’s purple ensemble and those blinged out centerpiece vessels.
The secret to a great engagement photo shoot? Find a county fair and go there.
