Where & When Bridal: What to Do This Weekend

A gown sale for a good cause, an engagement ring event, and more.

Thursday, March 20: “Brides Against Breast Cancer” Gown Sale
You have two options for this event, which will have more than 1,000 gowns—some designer—on sale: Go tonight to the VIP portion and pay to get first pick of the dresses (while eating cake and hors d’oeuvres), or go on Friday or Saturday and shop for free. Most dresses are between $99 and $799, and proceeds go toward granting wishes for patients with terminal breast cancer. It’s all happening at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (1960 Chain Bridge Rd., McLean; 703-893-2100). Thursday 8 to 10:30 PM, $75 for a bride and guest, $25 each additional guest; Friday 10 to 8, free; Saturday 10 to 6, free.

Friday, March 21: Stephen Yearick Trunk Show
Check out designer Stephen Yearick’s latest line at this show, which runs through Sunday at Harriet Kassman Bridal Salon (5300 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-363-1870). Appointments are recommended (call the salon to make one) but not required.

The Ultimate Ring Event
I. Gorman Jewelers (1133 20th St., NW; 202-775-8544) is hosting 14 ring designers Friday and Saturday to talk about engagement rings while you shop, check out the store’s new location, and eat treats from CakeLove. 11 AM to 6 PM both days.

Saturday, March 22: “Wedding Table” Workshop
Head to Georgetown’s Paper Source (3019 M St., NW; 202-298-5545) to learn how to make place cards, menus, and more. Register here at least 24 hours in advance. $55; 2 to 5 PM.
