Come to Hitched (1523 Wisconsin Ave., NW) for an Amsale Aberra bridal-gown trunk show this weekend. The Ethiopian designer’s gowns are known for their clean, contemporary style, and one appeared in a Grey’s Anatomy episode. Receive a 10 percent discount on any gown you purchase at the show. Sunday, October 3
Crate & Barrel stores in the Washington area are hosting The Wedding Party, a free seminar for brides- and grooms-to-be. Sponsored by Martha Stewart Weddings, this crash course offers you and your fiancé the opportunity to get advice from design and registry experts, meet other couples, and sample food and drinks. 9 to 11 AM. On Monday, Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada, launches her new novel, Last Night at Chateau Marmont, at Ginger. On Tuesday, J. McLaughlin (4851 Bethesda Ave., Bethesda) hosts a Kenneth Jay Lane and Lauren G. Adams jewelry-and-accessories trunk show.
