Thursday, April 16, through Saturday, April 18: Kenneth Pool Trunk Show
Project Runway alum Austin Scarlett brings both Old World glamour and modern twists to bridal gowns as designer and creative director at Kenneth Pool. Thursday through Saturday, get the chance to view 20 to 30 Kenneth Pool gowns not normally showcased at Carine’s Bridal Atelier in Georgetown (1726 Wisconsin Ave., NW, Second Floor; 202-965-4696). Carine’s will offer a 10-percent discount to any bride who purchases a Kenneth Pool gown during the trunk show. Sunday, April 19: Bridal Showcase at Historic Oakland
Sample food, listen to music, and see the latest in bridal and formal wear at the Columbia Town Center Community Association bridal showcase this Sunday. Photographers, caterers, floral designers, and more from the Baltimore-Washington area will be on hand at Historic Oakland (5430 Vantage Point Rd., Columbia; 410-730-4801 or 800-730-4802). Call ahead to purchase $10 advance tickets. $15 at the door; 2 to 4:30 PM.
Sunday, April 19: Piedmont Club Mock Wedding
The Piedmont Club in Haymarket (14675 Piedmont Vista Dr.; 703-753-5922) is throwing a mock-wedding showcase for brides-to-be. Check out what the private club might look like for your special day while indulging in free hors d’oeuvres, a chocolate fountain, music from a DJ, and more. If you book a party that day for at least 40 guests, you’ll receive a free fruit-and-cheese display at your event.
