4 Fun Fashion and Shopping Events in DC This Week: August 18-23

T-shirt Tuesdays and meet the man behind Yarok hair care products.

T-shirt Tuesdays at Onward Reserve

Every Tuesday, the new Georgetown retailer is offering shoppers who spend $100 a free Penley or Onward Georgetown graphic t-shirt. The shop, which markets men’s lifestyle brands including Smathers & Branson, Shinola, and Southern Proper, is a perfect one-stop shop for shopping for men’s gifts and preppy accessories. 1063 Wisconsin Ave., NW.

Shop for Diner en Blanc Furniture at West Elm

You may have your outfit down, but if you’re still hunting down that elusive set of white tables and chairs, have no fear: West Elm is here to help. Shop for your all-white tablescape at West Elm in Logan Circle and have a chance to win two tickets to the exclusive pop-up picnic. The event will take place August 20 from 6 to 8 PM at 1728 14th St., NW.

Meet the Maker at Follain

Join the team at Follain at Union Market for a bit of background on one of their all-natural beauty lines. The founder of Yarok, Mordechai Alvow, will be in-store for the evening to chat about creating his hair care products while leading the salon at an Equinox Sports Club in New York City. Learn more about the line and get Alvow’s hair care tips at this afternoon event, from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, August 21, at 598 Neal Pl., NE.

DC Goodwill Swap and Shop

Spend Sunday swapping out your old wardrobe for new at the Goodwill of Greater Washington. Bring unstained and undamaged apparel–not including socks, undergarments, or promotional t-shirts–to trade in for Goodwill’s stock of clothing. A $5 donation is suggested for attendees, and each participant must bring at least five pieces of apparel. The swap will take place on August 23 between 11 AM and noon, and shopping will continue until 2 PM at 2200 South Dakota Ave., NE. Register to attend at Eventbrite.
