Fashion Agenda: Ethical Fashion With Amanda Hearst, Beauty Night Out
Your guide to the week’s most stylish events.
Beauty Night Out
The Style & Image Network brings its annual beauty extravaganza back to Long View Gallery this week. The event, hosted by celebrity stylist James Cornwell, brings together nearly 15 area salons and boutiques for an evening of pampering—think makeup and skin-care consultations, manicures, and spa treatments over cocktails—and guests can take home a gift bag packed with goodies from Kiehl’s, Shobha, and more. Tickets ($19 to $35) are available via Gilt City. Tuesday 5 to 9:30. 1234 Ninth St., NW.
Boutiques Up Late in Old Town
Ever felt disappointed to find your favorite boutiques closed after a retail-therapy-necessitating workday? The Old Town Boutique District wants to help. This week, it launches Boutiques Up Late, in which participating shops such as Bellacara, Bishop, and more will keep their doors open until 8 every Thursday through July 31. See the district’s website for a full list of shops. Thursdays through July 31. Old Town.
Maison de Mode Pop-Up at the Capella
Stocked with ethically made apparel and accessories hand-picked by tastemaker Amanda Hearst, the Maison de Mode traveling boutique makes a four-day stop in Washington this week. Stop by the presidential suite of Georgetown’s Capella hotel between 10 and 6 starting Thursday to peruse the collection, which features jewelry by Natalie Frigo, statement clutches by Edie Parker, and more. 10 to 6 Thursday through Monday. 1050 31st St., NW.
Studio Scene At Last Call with District Sparkle
Local fashion blogger Meaghan Moynahan of District Sparkle hosts a soiree this week at Neiman Marcus Last Call’s newest Mosaic District location. Preview some of the store’s best looks for summer while enjoying sips, sweets, giveaways, and $15 off any purchase of $50 or more. Thursday 6 to 8. 2905 District Ave., Fairfax.
Rayan Pop-Up Shop on 14th Street
Gala-goers, take note: Launched by stylish Los Angeles-based sisters Nora and Nadia Rayan, the duo’s namesake label Rayan specializes in on-trend, long-sleeve eveningwear. Peruse the brand’s latest collection, City Lights—laden with elegant shimmer and flattering peplums—at a three-day trunk show in DC this week, which kicks off with a launch party Thursday. All orders placed at the pop-up will be discounted 20 percent. Friday 6 to 11 (launch party), Saturday noon to 7, Sunday 10 to 4. 1937 14th St., NW, Suite 201.
