Alexandria’s Sidewalk Sale
For the fourth year, Alexandria hosts its annual sidewalk sale, which this year will take place over two days in both Old Town and Del Rey. More than 60 businesses (including some of our fave Virginia shopping haunts, such as Bishop Boutique, Red Barn Mercantile, Coco Blanca, Zoe, and lots more) will discount summer merch between 60 and 85 percent. Making the deal even sweeter: During the sale, the city offers free parking at all meters, garages, and lots. Saturday and Sunday. Old Town and Del Ray, Alexandria. Visit Shop Local Alexandria for details on deals.

Tax-Free in Maryland
Last weekend, Virginians enjoyed a tax break; this week, Marylanders get in on the same deal—for an entire week! The tax-free deal applies to clothing and shoes priced at $100 or less. Sunday through August 17. Check online for the full list of tax-exempt items.

And don’t forget to RSVP for exclusive access to Neiman Marcus’s fall trend event! The deadline is Friday.
