Who: Jamie Hurst, 28

What she does: I assist the curators of American and contemporary art with researching the collection, developing upcoming exhibitions, and building relationships with donors and collectors.
Describe your work style: Because I work in the art world, I have a lot of creative freedom with my work wardrobe. I generally go for pieces that look effortless and chic but are also comfortable for sitting at my computer for hours doing research. The office can be pretty casual, but it’s important for me to look polished in front of visitors, as I do work in a public building. I wear a lot of classic tailored separates, so I can play with layers throughout the seasons.
Outfit One: An exhibition opening
I like to dress up for exhibition openings with sky-high platform pumps and red lipstick. This column dress has been a go-to because it’s easy to wear, conservative, and a just touch sexy. It’s also stretchy, so I can enjoy Champagne and treats throughout the night!

Outfit Two: Taking a meeting
Mixing prints doesn’t have to just be for the weekend. If done right, it can still be polished enough for the office. I love to wear a pencil skirt and a flowy blouse when visiting donors, collectors, and galleries.

Outfit Three: Doing paperwork
An oversize chambray shirt is a wardrobe staple for me. I pair it with silk pants, mid-height heels, and fun baubles for an everyday look that’s put-together yet super comfortable—perfect for sitting at my computer for hours on end.

Outfit Four: Giving tours
I can’t imagine my work wardrobe without a few little black dresses. A black shirtdress tied with a scarf is perfect for giving tours or greeting visitors.
