What to Expect at the W’s Fashion Week Celebration

Four days of shows and sips.

If you’re not into the idea of making the trek to icy New York City for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, don’t fret: A piece of it is coming to you.

Beginning Thursday, the W Hotel transforms its Living Room space into a fashion hub for four days to celebrate the occasion, complete with live streams of the runways, models, beauty stations, cocktails, and more—very much like the real deal, minus the frantic run from venue to venue. The events, which last from 6 to 8 each night, are free and open to the public (you must be 21 to attend), but an RSVP is required; e-mail wfashion@brandlinkdcrsvp.com.

Here’s what you’ll find:

Designer presentations

Each night of the four-day celebration will be dedicated to a specific brand, which, with the help of Bloomingdale’s, will present its fall collection using informal modeling. The schedule:

Thursday, February 6: Diane von Furstenberg
Tuesday, February 11: Tory Burch
Wednesday, February 12: Hugo Boss
Thursday, February 13: DKNY

Real-time runway coverage

Are you glued to your computer screen each February, watching feeds of the New York shows from home? Good news: Live coverage of the runways will stream continuously during the four days.

Gratis beauty services

Fashion week is a time to look your best, which you can do with the help of beauty stations set up in the Living Room. Have your nails and eyelashes primped by Nectar Skin Bar, your hair treated by Ipsa for Hair, and your makeup touched up by Nars. Beauty services change slightly depending on the day, so check the schedule for exact details.

Cocktail specials

As part of the W’s Sips series, special cocktails discounted to $10 will be offered during each fashion-filled evening.

Events begin on Thursday, February 6, at W Hotel’s Living Room, 515 Fifth St., NW.
