The next in a long line of luxury store openings at CityCenterDC, the mixed-use development that fills the blocks between Ninth and 11th Street south of New York Avenue, Morgenthal Frederics will celebrate its new shop on the evening of August 5.

The CityCenterDC location will be the brand’s twelfth store, and it brings a selection of high-end eyewear to the upscale retail hub. The 1,000-square-foot space will feature an Optical Bar with dark wood shelving that maintains the shaker-inspired designs seen in other stores that work to create an apothecary aesthetic.

Visitors will be able to shop Morgenthal Frederics’ line of frames in three materials: buffalo horn, acetate, and titanium, with both sun and optical lens options. Prices for frames fit the luxury range, running from around $360 to $2,300–the upper end reserved for the buffalo horn pairs that are hand milled in Germany. Alongside the Morgenthal Frederics frames, the CityCenterDC location will also market eyewear from other high-end brands such as Cartier, Sama, Thierry Lasry, and Mykita.

The store is kicking off their opening with a three-day trunk show on August 6, 7,and 8 from noon to 6 PM, during which time attendees can meet Morgenthal Frederics’ chief designer Jeff Press and shop, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Active Minds, a nonprofit organization working to change the conversation about mental health.

The new store will be located at 941 H St., NW. Take a look below to see inside.
