Meet Our New Fashion Blogger Crush: McKenna Bleu

The Bostonian landed in Clarendon in January.

Washington is very comfortable with its neutrals. Whether it be black, white, cream, taupe, or grey, conservative DC dwellers love to stick to the basics. That’s why when we saw the fashion and lifestyle blog of McKenna Bleu, we flipped for her use of bold, bright colors.

“I 100-percent believe life is better in color,” says Bleu.

Bleu is a recent transplant from Boston, where she worked as an Aveda hairstylist. She began her blog two years ago, and with its booming popularity, she made the switch to full-time blogger when her husband’s career in the military sent them packing for Clarendon this January.

Bleu is also a frequent traveler, and she shares her journeys—everywhere from London to Luxembourg—on her blog, sharing everything from tips on where to stay in different cities to what to do to what to wear while doing it. The blog is perfect for inspiration on how to mix and mingle pops of powerful colors—hot pink, neon yellow, mint green—in your wardrobe.

Be prepared for an abundance of hot pink—it’s incorporated into her outfits all over the site. “I’m unashamedly girl,” says Bleu. “I love that my readers appreciate that about me.”
