Where & When Bridal

This weekend’s bridal fare is a mixed bag: swing-dance lessons, deeply discounted bridal wear, and (possibly) free vacations.

Saturday, July 11: Dance at a Unitarian Universalist Church
Forget the awkward slow dance to “The Way You Look Tonight.” Instead, surprise your guests with an upbeat swing number for the first dance. Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (2709 Hunter Mill Rd., Oakton; 703-281-4230) is hosting West Coast swing-dance lessons followed by a night of free dance on its large dance floor. $12; 7:15 to 11.

Sunday, July 12: Elegance in Bridal Show
Event planner Event Savvi is hosting its annual Elegance in Bridal Show at the Holiday Inn Select in Richmond (1021 Koger Center Blvd.; 804-675-2900). There’ll be a fashion show, free goodies, and experts on hand, but the best part is that the first 500 soon-to-be brides or grooms will receive a free three-day, two-night honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, or the Bahamas. Visit eventsavvyproductions.com for more information. 1 to 4 PM; $10.

Ongoing: Harriet Kassman Closing Sale
After 32 years in business, the bridal-gown purveyor Harriet Kassman (5300 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-363-1870) is closing. The good news is the deep discounts on its bridal wear—bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and accessories will be priced at 50 to 75 percent off. The boutique is slated to shut its doors permanently when it sells out of inventory. Open Monday through Wednesday and Friday 10 to 6, Thursday 10 to 8, Saturday noon to 5.
