The UK-based designer Jenny Packham, who made Miley Cyrus’s Oscar gown, is showing pieces from her newest line at Hannelore’s of Olde Town (106 N. Lee St., Alexandria; 703-549-0387). Gowns purchased during the show are 10 percent off. Call ahead to make an appointment. Thursday 10 to 8, Friday and Saturday 10 to 6.

You can find gowns by Angel Sanchez and Elizabeth Fillmore this weekend at Carine’s Bridal Atelier (1726 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-965-4696). Sanchez, a Venezuelan designer, made Sandra Bullock’s wedding dress in 2005, and Fillmore, a Parsons graduate, is known for her modern designs. Appointments, which are required, are available Thursday 4 to 6, Friday 11 to 6, and Saturday 11 to 7.

Need to learn more about Washington wedding resources? Want to do it while sipping on cocktails and sampling cakes? Head to Long View Gallery (1234 Ninth St., NW) for A Chic Affair. Extravagant Affairs is hosting a free seamstress party to fix your not-so-perfect dresses. For appointments, which are recommended, e-mail extravagantboutique@gmail.com. Start thinking about music beyond the first dance: The Pros Entertainment Services is hosting a bridal showcase featuring its DJs.
