This Fall Wedding Inspiration is Everything We Want Our Thanksgiving to Look Like

When it came to creating a stunning fall bridal photo shoot, sponsored by online stationary company Wedding Paper Divas, photographer Vicki Grafton and Middleburg Events Studio designers drew inspiration from the brand’s copper foil invitations. The warm tones appeared in the “bride’s” first dress and in the dahlia florals and candlesticks that decorate the tablescape.

For the narrative behind the shoot, Grafton thought back to a real surprise wedding that she’d photographed earlier this year. “The idea was that the newly engaged couple planned an intimate engagement dinner with just their families,” says Grafton. “Then the bride surprised everyone when she went inside and changed into her wedding dress, and then had her grandfather officiate a surprise elopement ceremony overlooking the mountains.”

From the charcuterie board to the pomegranate cocktails to the dishes of Brussels sprouts and biscuits, this shoot does double-duty as both wedding inspiration and Thanksgiving tablescape envy. The harvest decor, filled with rusty reds and copper, coordinates perfectly with the seasonal foods to create a spread that we’d all like to share in.

The view overlooking the mountains made for a perfect backdrop for portraits after an outdoor ceremony. The private estate, Maple Spring House, where the photo shoot took place, is available exclusively through the Middleburg Events Studio.
