Inspired by weddings that fall on holidays, the shoot focused on bringing in St. Patrick’s day themes–the color green, a three-leaf clover, pops of orange–in sophisticated ways. “The goal with this design was to give a nod to the color green while creating an aesthetic best described as ‘modern industrial warmth,’” says Jamie Kutchman of Marigold & Grey.
The bride was dressed in a sparkly green gown instead of the traditional white, further pushing the modern element of the shoot–as did the setting’s industrial chic vibe. “Longview Gallery in DC served as the perfect backdrop for a classy, confidant bride who sees nothing wrong with rocking a bold green gown in lieu of traditional white on her wedding day,” says Kutchman. “The venue’s contemporary art collection of mostly neutrals, metallics, and the occasional pop of color served as the perfect backdrop.”
Copper and orange tones were carried throughout the decor and place settings, including the toasting glasses and copper-toned flatwear. The shoot was complete with a petite wedding cake, decorated with a splash of bright copper.
