They Met on OkCupid in DC, Then Threw a Metro-Themed Wedding

We love when DC couples find fun ways to weave in their love of the city into their wedding, and Scott Harding and Christopher (Chris) Lloyd did just that. Take a peek at their Washington-themed wedding in the photos below by Deb Lindsey Photography.

After getting acquainted through OkCupid, Scott and Chris planned to meet up for lunch in Arlington. Even though Chris said that he liked all kinds of food, Scott ended up choosing the one type of cuisine he doesn’t enjoy, Thai food, for their date. Nevertheless, both were soon smitten, and shortly after the lunch date ended, Scott messaged Chris to ask him out on a second date.

Two years later, the pair had take a trip to Istanbul to attend a wedding. Afterwards, they  visited Italy en route home, and while stopped at a winery, Scott proposed to Chris with views overlooking the rustic countryside.

For their June wedding, Scott and Chris chose the classic and elegant Meridian House. An outdoor ceremony in the round included emotional vows by Chris (“Hands down, they were the most touching, moving, and thoughtful words ever spoken,” says Scott.), after which guests moved inside for the reception.

Table numbers made to look like Metro station signs and escort cards that imitated fare cards added a local nod to their sunflower-accented reception decor. In another DC-touch, guests were sent home with cookies designed with the Washington skyline as the newlyweds looked forward to a honeymoon in Bora Bora and Beverly Hills.
