We’re Loving All Fall Colors in This Brittland Manor Wedding

Maureen Sentman and Timothy Danos wed on November 9, 2013.

What’s sweeter than college sweethearts? How about a couple that returns to their college town for their wedding, including a rehearsal dinner at the location of their first date? Maureen Sentman and Timothy (Tim) Danos, both Washington College alums, returned to Chestertown for their cozy fall wedding, all caught on camera by Erin Wheeler Photography.

Both political science majors at Washington College, it makes sense that Maureen and Tim would become friends. But though she loved his good head of hair and he thought she was cute, they were both too shy to initiate a romance. Even when it came to their first date for drinks in downtown Chestertown, both were too nervous to even hold hands.

Over the next few years, they dated long distance as Maureen headed to Vermont for law school and Tim to Delaware for a teaching position. But on Christmas Eve, 2012, the day after Maureen returned home from law school, the two went for a drive around Chesterton to see the Christmas lights. They ended up at their alma mater, where Tim led Maureen back to the old library, where they’d fallen in love writing their senior theses side by side. Once inside, Tim was down on one knee, his grandmother’s beautiful snowflake diamond in hand. Maureen said yes, just as the snow began to fall outside.

For their November 9, 2013 nuptials, they embraced the fall weather with bridesmaids dressed in different jewel tones and carrying bouquets including succulents and feathers as accents. The bridesmaid dresses matched the jewel-toned fleece blankets that were set out for guests to grab to keep warm after sunset.

They served a Maryland-friendly menu of cornmeal crusted rockfish, followed by a selection of gluten-free pieces. Before the end of the night, the groom hopped on stage to perform “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show with the band, sending off the celebration on a high note.
