Where & When: Bridal Edition

The Marriage Equality Wedding Expo brings LGBT couples all the advice they need

Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19
For wedding needs beyond the gown, try this weekend’s Urban Chic Says I Do event at the store’s Georgetown location. Save on accessories, bridesmaid dresses (including 20 percent off Shoshanna designs), honeymoon ensembles, and more. And if you bring your “save the date,” you’ll save even more. You can also set up a private consultation with one of the store’s stylists by calling 202-338-5398. Friday and Saturday 10 to 7.

Adele Wechsler’s eco-friendly designs are in a trunk show at Hitched. Made with fair-trade practices and fabrics such as organic hemp, the couture gowns are both sustainable and stylish. The shop is offering 10 percent off any dress purchased at the event. Call 202-333-6162 for an appointment.

Friday, March 18, through Sunday, March 20
There’s a Rosa Clara and Two by Rosa Clara trunk show at Chevy Chase Bridal, where you can save 10 percent on any gown purchased at the event. The designer has worked with Christian Lacroix and Jesus Del Poso. Call 202-363-9301 to make an appointment.

Saturday, March 19
The Marriage Equality Wedding Expo is at the Washington Court hotel this weekend. The event offers LGBT couples the chance to consult with vendors (including caterers, photographers, bakeries, and DJs), meet with legal- and financial-planning representatives, and learn how to plan their ultimate wedding. Buy tickets ($10) from Marry Me in DC. They’re also available for $15 at the door. Noon to 4.

Sunday, March 20
Occasional Cakes (5000 Sunnyside Ave., Suite 205, Beltsville) is hosting a free cake tasting and open house, where you can meet and consult with wedding professionals and try the shop’s cake options. Register with Occasional Cakes. Noon to 3.
