We were huge fans of Junko Yoshioka’s new collection—it featured fabrics we’d never seen before, such as “peacock organza” (which had peacock leaves embroidered in the material). Friday, November 11
Hollywood designer Kevan Hall, who has dressed Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, and Renée Zellweger, will be honored at a meet-and-greet at the Washington Club. You’ll also be able to preview his 2012 ready-to-wear line and view his favorite gowns worn on the Oscar and Emmy red carpets. While we don’t recommend creating your own wedding cake (leave that to the experts!), it’s certainly fun to try your hand at baking. Jump-start your wedding planning at the International Special Events Society’s DC IDEA 2011 Expo at the Marriott Wardman Park from 6 to 9 PM. You’ll meet a variety of local vendors, from caterers to photographers, florists to musicians. Tickets are $15, but you can get them for $10 if you register in advance.
