When Miranda met Tony while they were both out with friends, watching basketball at James Hoban’s in Dupont, she thought he was cute, sweet, charming, and quiet. In return, Tony thought she was cute, sweet, and charming—but loud. Differences aside, they’d soon planned a first date for a Maryland soccer game. Though the event took place in November, Miranda had envisioned that they would be attending an indoor soccer game, so she left her coat at home. In an attempt to avoid appearing high maintenance, she shivered through the whole game.

They’d dated three years when they were spending Christmas with Miranda’s family in Ohio. A few days after the holiday, they drove to Cleveland to spend the day in one of Miranda’s favorite cities. After a visit to West Side Market, watching a Browns game, and a drink at Great Lakes Brewing Company, they finished the day with dinner at Lolita, and it was there that Tony ask Miranda to be his wife.

After a year-and-a-half engagement, they wed on June 13, 2015 at Clyde’s at Willow Creek Farm in Virginia, playing off the rustic wood space with bright arrangements of red and yellow flowers. Yellow patterned bridesmaid dresses matched the bright decor, which included floral chandeliers, hung from the ceiling.

Guests enjoyed sweet tea and lemonade during the ceremony and a cigar bar after the “I do’s.” A bluegrass band added some country flair to the ceremony, while the reception deejay kept the dance floor busy. In lieu of a wedding cake, the happy couple served an assortment of desserts–including milk shooters with warm chocolate chip cookies–before departing on their northern Spain honeymoon.
